Macintosh is Nerdcore

Okay, so recently I have been setting my Facebook to Public and removing an so-call "Privacy Settings" to either "Everyone" or as public as possible.

You see, even though I prefer to remain in the public domain I still don't want to be Zuckerpunched with the bait and switch BS that Mark Zuckerberg and his cronies have pulled before.

It's not much of a secret that nothing on the Internet is truly anonymous or private. But on facebook.com, a site professing to be a safe a private place for social networking, is not at all private. It doesn't take much effort for me to find all the dirty little secrets of, say, my ex-girlfriend's new male-play-thing, who I wish blackmail in exchange for cheetos.

With that said, there is an obvious problem with this situation besides the deliberate lies made by Mark Zuckerberg and the ridiculous privacy policy that surrenders few rights to the user:

There is no Alternative to Facebook. Which is the only reason why I remain.

So I continue to remain, but I proclaim in the process that everyone on Facebook should act as though everything they post is public, even those secret chats that Dianna Murphy doesn't want her girlfriend to find out.

So on the subject of tech, I have just recently ordered OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard for my MacBook Pro, which is still on 10.5 Leopard. I know it's just the equivalent of Windows XP's three service packs, but for $30US I figured why not. I'd heard when it came out that Leo Laporte had approved and I much liked it on my girlfriend's family Mac Minis.

Speaking of which, what brought on deciding to step up and finally buy it was that my girlfriend has recently ordered a 13 inch MacBook Pro, which she is eagerly awaiting. I will expect an over zealous and bouncy squeal from her when it arrives.

So given the fact I have used the new OS X, seen reviews and compared it to Leopard, I figured why not update? It's cheaper than Windows 7, though it really doesn't compare.

In preparation I have backed up all my vital files (Indie games and save files, photographs and iTunes Library) as well as made a list of all my favourite programs (like Adium, and Skype [v2.6.0.140]). It's kind of odd moving my iTunes folder to the PC again after not that long ago deleting the entirety of my old library and removing iTunes all together.

So anyway, I look forward to installing the new OS and celebrating Emma's new notebook computer.

Another I've been doing to push myself into the public area is changing my blogger Handle. For a good while my blog was "BehindHungryArtistSaku.blogspot.com" because of my handles "HungryArtistSaku" & "SAKUTOnoSai", but I decided it was time to give up on that particular handle and change my Blogger url to BrentMatthewLillard.Blogspot.com. I also made a new banner, which I am very proud of.

Also I have been in a habit of listening to a bit of Nerdcore rap lately. MegaRan, Frontalot, Dual Core, MC Lars. All really good.

Kissing the distant oddities...

So I've spent the past three days in Graceland (Elvis Presley Museum) and Tunica (Horseshoe Casino) with my Mother, her three daughters (Cyndi, Cari and Barbi), one's husband (Jimmi), and my cousin (John).
It felt like ten...
And it seemed to me that our family was so out of sync this time. It through off my chi and I was out of sync with myself the whole time and, to be perfectly honest, I think I came off a bit rude while there.
Either way I had a lot of fun and enjoyed myself, even given the oddities and short comings of the trip.
I mean, Elvis knew how to live! I really enjoyed the tour of the estate and had a lot of laughs and, honestly, I was little emotionally tugged at the end.
I mean, I know I'm too young to have seen him, but I wish I could have. He was a source of such talent and such individuality, even into the seventies. I mean, yeah, the jump suits and sideburns were a bit worrisome, but he was would grown out of them by the eighties.
And such a handsome man. lol
While in Tunic we also went on a river boat ride out on the Mississippi. It was beautiful and fun and the Captain was pretty funny. We got to go into the channeled the sent the river water for the floating Casinos (because in the state of Mississipi, your casino MUST be floating on Mississippi river water) because of the flood level.

Though, I was glad to be home. I got my computers turned on when I came home and listened to some LOUD music for a few minutes then decided I needed to walk. So I figured I could kill two birds with one stone and called my Girlfriend to ask if she and I could hang for a bit before church. First attempt I called in a meeting-thing.... Then she called me back and it was all cool.
So I walked, met her, received glomp of doom, went to church, watched a great lecture by Rob Bell (Everything is Spiritual), Emma and Mrs. Elke dropped me off and after finishing up my settling in, I crashed life F-14 Tomcat with a drunken pilot and missing wing.

Needless to say, though, I was in a considerably better mood.

That's my week thus far.
I'm going to go put a shirt on and straighten my hair a little before devo.
